Quick Start

Column Chart

  1. Add the SDM Smart Column Chart to your report
  2. Drag a categorical field to the Axis well
  3. Drag one or more measures to the Values well
  4. (Optional) Drag a field to Legend to split bars by series

Chart Types

In the Bar Settings card, choose from:

  • Column — Vertical grouped bars
  • Bar — Horizontal grouped bars
  • Stacked Column — Vertical stacked bars
  • Stacked Bar — Horizontal stacked bars
  • 100% Stacked Column / Bar — Percentage stacking

Line Chart

  1. Add the SDM Smart Line Chart to your report
  2. Drag a categorical field to the Axis well
  3. Drag one or more measures to Values
  4. (Optional) Use Legend to create multiple series

Legend Position

The line chart supports a unique End of Line legend position that places series labels directly at the end of each line, with automatic overlap prevention and lead lines.

Scatter Plot

  1. Add the SDM Smart Scatter Plot to your report
  2. Drag measures to X Axis and Y Axis
  3. (Optional) Drag a field to Values (Labels) for point labels
  4. (Optional) Use Legend for color grouping
  5. (Optional) Drag a measure to Size for bubble sizing

Zoom Inset

The scatter plot supports a Zoom Inset feature that magnifies a region of the chart for detailed inspection.

Gradient Heatmap

  1. Add the Socio-DM Gradient Heatmap to your report
  2. Drag measures or fields to X Axis and Y Axis
  3. Drag the measure to shade the surface to Value
  4. (Optional) Drag a field to Category (sample id) to label each sample point

Interpolated surface

The heatmap does not need a dense grid: it interpolates a continuous surface from scattered sample points, and can overlay isolines to make the gradient readable.

Radar

  1. Add the SDM Smart Radar to your report
  2. Drag a categorical field to the Axis well — three values or more make a readable web
  3. Drag a measure to Values
  4. (Optional) Use Legend to draw one thread per series

Independent scales

Each axis is scaled from its own minimum and maximum, so a score out of 50 and a score out of 10 sit side by side without one crushing the other. Switch Scale Mode to Shared when the axes really do share a unit.

Pie Chart

  1. Add the SDM Smart Pie Chart to your report
  2. Drag a categorical field to the Category well
  3. Drag a measure to Values
  4. (Optional) Use Legend to get one chart per series

Donuts, gauges and multiples

In the Pie card, raise the Inner Radius above 0 to turn the pie into a donut, and set the Shape to Top half circle to lay the whole series out over 180° — combined with a target line and a center label, that is a gauge.

With a Legend field, the Multiple Series card either spreads the series over a grid of small multiples (with a cap on the number of charts per row) or nests them as concentric rings inside a single donut.
